LA’s Love Affair with the Car Chase
The Los Angeles Times described it as “The most L.A. car chase ever.” For two hours yesterday, Herschel Reynolds and Isaiah Young hogged the media spotlight. The duo sped through residential neighborhoods and freeways, and did donuts on an overpass in Hollywood. At one point, a TMZ tour bus nearly cut them off. They threw a hamburger at it.

The duo sped through residential neighborhoods and freeways, and did donuts on an overpass in Hollywood. At one point, a TMZ tour bus nearly cut them off. They threw a hamburger at it. The chase ended in South L.A. when they parked to wait for police, but not before high-fiving newfound fans and posing for selfies. It was, to say the least, one of the most memorable car chases in a region that has seen its share of memorable car chases. We speak to the reporter who essentially created the televised car chase.
