B: Scooter traffic jam: With so many different scooters on LA's sidewalks, it's become confusing and hazardous

About 25% of LA Metro's bus lines are being used, despite a big push to expand public transit across LA County, according to an LA Times report today. One reason Angelenos aren't choosing buses and trains over cars: the "first mile, last mile" problem of getting to the nearest public transit station. App-based electric scooters, such as Bird and Lime, Jump, Lyft, and Spin were supposed to offer a solution to the problem. However, scooter regulations differ across the city, and with so many different scooters out there, it can get confusing.
