LAPD Shooting and San Diego Wildfires

Hosted by

A new report has raised doubts about the ambush of two LAPD officers last June. Police say a man approached the police car and shot through the back window, then escaped. But no impacts or other evidence were found to support that the alleged gunman fired a weapon. And 10 major fires ignited in San Diego County this week. The 400-acre Poinsettia Fire is now completely contained, after apparently killing a homeless person in Carlsbad, while gutting four houses and an 18-unit apartment building. But several other fires continue to burn. KCRW's Steve Chiotakis spoke with Joel Rubin from the Los Angeles Times, and Megan Burks, reporter at KPBS in San Diego.
