Are More Indictments Against Sheriff Personnel on the Way?

Two more LA County Sheriff’s deputies face federal charges, this time for conspiring to assault a handcuffed jail inmate and covering up under oath. Witness Catholic chaplain Paulino Juarez testified about the incident before the Citizens Commission on Jail Violence. He repeated his remarks on video for the ACLU of Southern California.

Two of the deputies Juarez mentioned were indicted Friday, bringing to 20 the total number so far in that and other incidents. Will there be more to come? That may depend on evidence of who else knew what happened and failed to take action.
