Do Californians Have the Right to Die?

Five states allow assisted suicide for terminally ill patients who want to end their own suffering. Support is growing for a bill in the State Senate to permit that in California.  But opponents warn of a slippery slope that could lead to doctors inducing death for the wrong reasons.

Also, the LAPD has beefed up patrols in South LA and Boyle Heights because of an increase in killings.  But recent numbers are nothing compared to the 1990's and early 2000's.
