Construction Delayed for New $2 Billion Jail

Hosted by

Last year, LA County's Board of Supervisors approved a $2 billion plan to replace the Men's Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles. But since then, two members were termed out and replaced by the voters. Yesterday, Sheila Kuehl and Hilda Solis joined Mark Ridley-Thomas in delaying the project to determine how big a new facility needs to be. Supervisor Kuehl joins us, along with Terri McDonald, who was with the State Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for 24 years. She's now Assistant to Sheriff Jim McDonnell.
