LA, SF District Attorneys File against Uber's Safety Claims
Uber has reached a value of $40 billion in just five years, but there have been “growing pains.” The DA’s of LA and San Francisco have jointly filed suit, claiming that ride sharing is misleading the public about safety.
Ride-sharing uses a smartphone app to match up a willing passenger with a willing driver who has a car. Lyft and Sidecar have made it a business, but the titan of ride-sharing is Uber, which investors say is worth $40 billion after just five years in operation. But there have been “growing pains.” The ride-sharing service has been banned in New Delhi, India and in Portland, Oregon -- and now the DA’s of LA and San Francisco have jointly filed suit, claiming that ride sharing is misleading the public about safety.
