What’s next for civilian oversight of the scandal-plagued LA Sheriff’s Department? LA County won’t have a civilian committee for oversight of the Sheriff’s Department—at least until after the November election.  Supervisors Molina and Ridley-Thomas said that the time has come, but Antonovich, Knabe and Yaroslavsky voted to focus first on establishing rules for the new Inspector General.
