Charlie Beck will be Chief of the LAPD for another 5 years. Mayor Eric Garcetti appointed the Police Commission, and that’s what he wanted… but the Commission’s vote today was not unanimous. We’ll ask Chief Beck how he plans to deal with evidence that the violent crime rate is greater than the LAPD has reported.

Also, revenue for the LA Clippers was $128 million last year. Today, a court approved the NBA team’s sale for $2 billion. Who got the best of the deal, Steve Ballmer, the eager buyer, or Donald Sterling, the defiant seller?
