At Los Angeles City Hall, it’s the Short Term Rental Alliance against Keep Neighborhoods First—vaguely named coalitions of homeowners for and against the vastly successful startup Airbnb. Both sides want legal protection, but out-of-date city ordinances have politicians caught in the middle.
Also, Mayor Eric Garcetti releases a plan for all city departments — from the DWP to the LAPD — to help realize his vision of a "sustainable city."
