Much of her work is devoted to promoting humane methods of handling livestock through teaching and through improving slaughterhouses. For example, her designs for curved cattle corrals reduce stress on cattle as they are herded to slaughter. Dr. Grandin believes that stress levels in animals have a direct impact on meat quality
