    Cocktail Recipe: Matt Biancaniello’s Limeless Margarita

    News of the lime shortage doesn’t have to be a buzz kill. Make L.A. cocktail wizard Matt Biancaniello‘s limeless margarita recipe instead! And listen to the interview with him (above) to hear more about how he’s modifying his drinks and why he thinks the shortage is an opening for cocktail-mixing creativity.     Limeless Margarita

    2 oz 123 Tequila Blanco

    3/4 oz alfalfa honey syrup

    3/4 oz lemon juice

    1 oz blood orange- bergamot reduction

    Garnish: dehydrated blood orange slice

    Combine everything in a shaker with ice and shake and strain into a rocks glass with ice and garnish with dehydrated blood orange slice

    Honey syrup: mix three cups of honey to one cup of water of boiling water. Stir and dissolve and let it cool

    Blood Orange Bergamot Reduction: take four cups of fresh blood orange juice and two bergamot oranges cut in quarters and place in a pot and bring to a boil. Then reduce the flame and simmer without a top for 50 minutes and let cool.
