Margarita Smith is the daughter of Steve and Robin Smith of Mud Creek Ranch. The Smith family grows 75 varieties of tangerines on their ranch, including the Ellendale. There are only seven Ellendale tangerine trees in California, five of which are at Mud Creek Ranch. The unique tangerine is a cross between a tangerine and an orange which accounts for its larger size and sweeter flavor.
