    RADIO BROADCAST #897

    06-12–26

Fanatic! Depending where you are in the world, you might be experiencing warm to hot weather. For example, Australia is in winter. At the time of this writing, beautiful Melbourne is experiencing 57° and a severe weather advisory is in place. Wind gusts up to 33 mph! Meanwhile, in Washington DC, it’s damn near 100°. As far as I’m concerned, it’s summer. Warm weather listening is happening. Unrest, Air Miami, and other offshoots of Mark Robinson are in play. Infotainment Scan by The Fall, the U.K. Subs, and several others are back. I think something really cool happens when music goes through warm air. For many years, it’s been my opinion that music sounds better at elevated temperatures. Some bands, like the Cramps, who I think we might have played on our show once or twice over the years, is excellent warm-to-hot weather listening. Early Birthday Party, Machine Gun Etiquette by the Damned, and so many others. I think a Fanatic is, as they say, spoiled for choice.

Fanatic, you might notice that in our second hour we have a track by an artist called ViRG, fighting out of Leesburg, Virginia, and weeks away from releasing her next record, Why Not Destroy This? My apologies for not knowing about this music before ViRG, otherwise known as Piano Whitman, kindly sent me the track we’re listening to tonight. I will get more ViRG music into upcoming shows. I think the music is really cool. https://virg.bandcamp.com

Fanatic, tonight’s selection of tunes, starting with Dr. Charles M Bogert and his frog squad, I hope you will find to be great summer listening. For Fanatics in Australia, or any other parts of the world where the weather is the opposite, these tracks are for your enjoyment as well.

No matter where you are, please never forget the importance of hydration, the dangers of prolonged exposure to the sun, and that whenever possible, have some music on. Thank you for tuning in and STAY FANATIC!!!
