Fanatic. I hope you had a great week. Jennifer Finch of the band L7 passed away a few days ago. She was smart, funny and fearless. Her passing is a huge loss. The band is bravely carrying on and has tour dates later this year. https://www.l7theband.com/tour

Some cool bands I’ve been listening to that you might want to check out:
Fanatic Denise turned me onto this cool band called Spacemoth. You might remember we played one of their tracks a couple of weeks ago. Definitely worth checking out.

That cool band we’ve been listening to now and then over the last several months, Added Dimensions, thankfully made a vinyl pressing of their first release, which I believe was cassette only. The great Hozac Records label is releasing it. Looking forward to this one.

A new album by 1-800-MIKEY called In Yun comes out on September 4. Mastered by the great Mikey Young. We will start tracks on August 28. https://1-800-mikey.bandcamp. com/album/in-yun-2
ViRG is worth checking out. If you go to her Bandcamp page, look on the left, you’ll see a song called Criminal Record. I think it’s easily one of the coolest tracks I’ve heard this year. The rest of the album is cool too. We’re going to have to wait a while for it, so far, it’s slated for a November release. Definitely something to look forward to. We will be playing Criminal Record on the show in a couple of weeks. https://virg.bandcamp.com/
On August 23, I will be at Skirball, interviewing James Spooner about his new book It Starts With Anger. I’m looking forward to it. You can get more information here: https://www.skirball.org/ programs/it-starts-anger- afternoon-james-spooner-and- henry-rollins
Last Sunday, Ian MacKaye told me about Jennifer. It’s been catching me off guard in the days since.
We have a great show for you tonight. On behalf of myself, young Engineer X and Engineer Am-Rock, we thank you for tuning in. Have a great weekend and stay Fanatic.
