Fanatic! I hope you had a great week and were able to get some music played. I listened to the new J Zunz album Obsidiana a few nights ago. I found it to be very lowkey. It might take some time for it to grow on me.

The new Dion Lunadon album Rare Gems Volume One is out.

I was doing an interview the other day and I was joking with a person and asked when he thought the next John Dwyer project would come out and the guy said something like he’s probably done a couple since we started speaking. He wasn’t far off. John is relentless! Behold!
The new Memo PST LP Eternal Actors is really good.

There was a kingsnake in my driveway a few days ago. That’s the third species of snake I’ve seen around here. Last year, or the year before, I saw a large timber rattlesnake that had unfortunately chosen to cross a busy road. There’s a great application you can get on your phone called the Merlin Bird ID. It allows you to photograph or record the sound of birds and it will identify them for you. So far, I’ve identified the Barred Owl, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Wren, Eastern Bluebird, and the Great Crested Fly Catcher. There’s more birds around here, including what seems to be two different kinds of Woodpeckers, also Robins and Cardinals, but it’s hard to get close enough to get a photo before they take off. https://merlin.allaboutbirds. org
Fanatic, now that we are so far off the beaten track of music, please allow me to stray slightly further. You might be too young to remember, but there was a comic, perhaps it was syndicated, it was about a guy named Mark Trail. You can find images of it online. There’s a new artist rendering him, which is a bit jarring, but the one I remember, you will recognize easily, for the simple reason it just looks old. He was always there with his nature tips. I always thought he was pretty cool. Anyway, if you want to go into the way back machine, he’s waiting for you with his shiny hair.
Music. Right. We have assembled for you what you will hopefully find to be a tremendous list of tunes. Have a great weekend and STAY FANATIC!!!
