    RADIO BROADCAST #916

    10-23–26

Fanatic! I hope you had a great week and were able to listen to some music. I’ve been mostly checking out the Joy Division Eternal box set, which is great, as well as records by the bands I saw at Gonerfest. Over the last several days, I spent a lot of time at a studio, tracking the audio version of my next book Bait Dog Boy. That was about 26 hours of reading out loud. The weather has finally decided to resemble autumn and I’m spending as much time as I can outside, walking.

Fanatic Denise gave me the heads up on this new Boris record. I haven’t heard a second of it, but it’s Boris, so of course, I ordered a copy. I just got the heads up that it’s on the way. As always, I can’t wait. https://boris.merchtable.com/ music/boris-x-duran-qi- kitagarusupido-the-evilone- which-sobs-vinyl-lp/?

I did not know that Katie Alice Greer had a new album out until a few days ago. It’s called Perfect Woman Sound Machine, Vol. 1. Her stuff is really cool. We’ll get into it very soon. https://katiealicegreer. bandcamp.com/album/perfect- woman-sound-machine-vol-1

Kilynn Lunsford has a new album out called I Woke Up In the Body Of Peter Pan With A Pinocchio Nose. She’s awesome. You might remember we played tracks from her previous record, Promiscuous Genes. From the notes on the page, the new one is a compilation of live and studio tracks. The vinyl version sold out, but hopefully she will make some more. Remember, she was in that insanely cool band Taiwan Housing Project, also, the band Little Claw. We’ll get into this record in our second November show. I’m listening to it right now as I’m putting together these notes. It’s great. The version of the song Promiscuous Genes on this record is so cool. In just doing what she does, Kilynn effortlessly escapes genre, category, and any expectation. It’s the track-to-track uncertainty she establishes over and over that I find fascinating.
