Fanatic! We’re at the end of winter as far as I’m concerned.
Feb 25, 2019

Fanatic! We’re at the end of winter as far as I’m concerned. I know the calendar says winter ends in late March but for me, anything past the end of February is kinda like spring to me. Soon the residents of Southern California will be baking like loaves of bread.

As you can see, Fanatic, we are rockin’ a lot of those great new releases that have come out so far this year. There are more great ones coming and as I’ve said before, it’s not for me to get around any band or label but I will say that we have a lot to look forward to.

Just a heads up on a few things.

Cherry Red is reissuing some early Fall titles and we will be getting into some full album roll outs and extra tracks. I’m in cahoots with Matt over at Cherry Red and we’re making plans. Get ready for that in late May.

We will be playing tracks from the very cool P Trash 6 LP box set starting next week. As you might remember, Peter of P Trash Records died in an automobile accident and the label stopped. Trash On!!!, a fantastic box set has been released in an edition of 500. This is not to be missed.

Two great guests are penciled in for the later in the year. They both want to be on the show to take it over and play some of their favorites. We’re in talks as far as scheduling. I don’t want to get too far ahead of things but we play the music of these people on the show a lot and I have a feeling it’s all going to happen and it’s going to be worth checking out. Understatement!

Kikagaku Moyo shows in the USA?! Indeed!

Wednesday, March 6 at the Regent for all you LA area types.

Peter Hook of Joy Division / New Order fame is apparently selling off some of his memorabilia. WOW doesn’t even begin to describe it.

Track 5, hour 1, we have new music by Alicja Trout aka River City Tanlines. This track just came out on Spotify. She sent me other tracks, they’re all great. I’m going to make sure we get to all of them but at the right time. I’ll check in with her on that so I don’t screw anything up.

As I’m writing to you, I’m listening to the Bong 3LP box set of their Roadburn Festival recordings, 2010, 2012 and 2014. I think there’s one or two left on Discogs. Sounds massive.

I just came up with an idea. How about for our 04-21-19 show, we do a “post 4-20” show and make it all Stoner from start to finish and we can slot on some of this live Bong material? I’m on this! We’ve gotta start with Sweet Leaf. On every 04-20, I listen to Dopesmoker by Sleep. For this year, I’ve got the Cornetto silver/green pressing lined up.

Oh, we’ve also got a ton of great music happening on this show. Until next week.

Listen to the show at least twice and STAY FANATIC!!!
