As I write this, I am in Beijing, China. It is Sunday, 09-06-10 in America. I am writing this to you early because I won’t have Internet access for the next few days and I didn’t want to miss my deadline. Tonight, our show falls on quite the occasion. I wondered what to do with our two hours together and decided on this. I have played the songs over and over and I think we have a good show. Everyone remembers 09-11-01 in their own way. I reckon tonight’s jams are where I’m coming from...

    Fanatics!

I reckon tonight’s jams are where I’m coming from.

I will let the music do the talking tonight. I bet you know most of these artists and songs. I think that a little familiarity on a night like this isn’t the worst thing.

Thanks for all the great letters you have been sending in, they are a huge inspiration. I really like these two hours we have together on the radio. It’s a very cool and hang up free environment we have set up here.

A few nights ago, KCRW was in the house at the Grammy Museum for the Miles Davis 40th Anniversary of Bitches Brew. Tha K’s very own Jeremy Sole was on the panel as well as myself, Don Cheadle, Bennie Maupin, Miles relatives, etc. It was a great time.

On A Sad Note Dept.: Fanatics, remember two weeks ago, when we played that great track by Noah Howard? His wife wrote me today and informed me that Noah passed away a few days ago, Friday, September 3.

Oh yeah, you Fanatics might get a kick out of this, if you go to my website, we have been putting up photos. There’s two new sections we put together a few days ago. I will be adding more over the next few weeks that I am out here in the world.

Dig tonight’s jams, do the right thing and STAY FANATIC!!!
