    Fanatic!
    Fanatic!
    Dec 1, 2024

Fanatic! I understand that the Thanksgiving holiday can sometimes be intense for some people who have to gather with members of their family who they might have strong disagreements with, spend hours with them, ending with a grand meal set at a table before all parties are allowed to stagger away fuming and go back to their respective dwellings. The angry parties, all swearing vengeance, promise to do it all over again around this time next year. Sounds crazy to me but humans are highly complex creatures.

Tonight’s show is ever so slightly conceptual. If you notice, Generation X tracks start both hours. We are doing this because it is Billy Idol's birthday. Happy birthday, Billy!

I did some great listening over the last few days, here are a few of the records I checked out.

Sun Ra – Ra To The Rescue

    Eric Dolphy – Out There

    Eric Dolphy – Outward Bound

    Corker – Hallways Of Grey

Boris / Coaltar Of The Deepers 12”

    Doe St – Doe St

J Mascis - What Do We Do Now

Joy Division – Pictures In My Mind

Des Demonas – Apocalyptic Boom! Boom!

The Damned – Machine Gun Etiquette

The Damned – Music For Pleasure

    Iggy Pop – The Idiot

The new Des Demonas album Apocalyptic Boom! Boom! came out yesterday. It’s really good.

Fanatic, tonight’s show I do believe is a happening mix of new and old that you’ll hopefully find enjoyable. Taleen Kali’s cover of Cupid Come by My Bloody Valentine is really good. We’re playing a track from the new Des Demonas album, a cool live version of the great Roland S Howard channeling Billy Idol’s classic track White Wedding and we finish the show with David Bowie doing Wild Is The Wind from Station To Station which I think is one of his greatest vocal performances. And somehow the Misfits and the Gun Club also found their way into the show as well. You can chalk that up to good planning.

We wish Billy Idol the happiest of birthdays and hope you have a great time digging tonight’s show. Until next week, keep finding humor in situations you previously couldn’t imagine it existed and STAY FANATIC!!!
