Dec 20, 2024

Chances are, you know him without even realizing it. He’s the name, the face, and musical genius behind the unforgettable soundtracks of some of your favorite blockbusters. Hans Zimmer is one of the most prolific and successful composers in film history, with over 500 projects to his name collectively — delivering hit after hit — and raking in a whopping $28 billion-plus at the worldwide box office. Over his many years in the business, he’s nabbed two Academy Awards, three Golden Globes, four Grammys, an American Music Award, and a Tony.

And now he’s here to chat with Novena about his far-flung music tastes, his love of opera, and his cameo in The Buggles’ groundbreaking “Video Killed the Radio Star” (*ahem* the first music video ever aired on MTV). He also reflects on his legendary 2017 Coachella performance and how Pharrell inspired him to hit the road, kick-starting his touring habit.

Speaking of which, after a seven-year hiatus and a sold-out first leg earlier this year, Zimmer is back on the road with his 18-piece (inter)stellar band for a new series of U.S. dates. Don’t miss out — this could be your last chance to cry to your favorite music score live before he begins working on a new tour.
