Morning Becomes Eclectic: New Pearl & The Oysters, Thundercat feat. WILLOW & Rostam
KCRW’s signature music program — defying format since 1977.

Fresh off yesterday’s stirring session with “Zamrock” living legends WITCH, FREAKS ONLY host Travis Holcombe returns to the daylight with a veritable highlight reel of what he gets up to (almost) every weeknight from 8 to 10p.m. Brontez Purnell’s No Jack Swing is in today’s mix, a record which Holcombe has been: “Shouting from the rooftops for its unique melange of hip hop, lo-fi gospel field recordings, big beat, and leftfield pop.” Also on deck are FREAKS ONLY’s post-punk faves, Nation Of Language, ahead of their rapidly approaching third album Strange Disciple. Plus, the latest from Swedish producer Baba Stiltz, Hurri Haran’s breezy summer bop “Beyoncé,” Sonic Boom’s spacey touch on A Place to Bury Strangers’ “Love Reaches Out,” and so much more.
