Feb 27, 2023

It’s beginning to look a lot like Oscar szn here in Los Angeles. This has been true, but it’s especially true now that the main event is just a little over a week away. To celebrate the big wins for Everything Everywhere All at Once at last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, we’re sampling a smooth little ditty from the soundtrack via one of our faves Moses Sumney teaming with Son Lux. Son Lux will be performing another stellar track from the film alongside star Stephanie Hsu and David Byrne (!) at this year’s ceremony. Also on deck for Oscar night — sure to be the spectacle of the evening — the showstopper from the stealth hit Indian film RRR, “Naatu Naatu.” Are we giving you an earful of these joyous sounds in this edition of MBE? You betcha.

In other incredible live performance news, we’ve got your chance at tickets to check out the sublime jazz-funk stylings of Adi Oasis as part of the Jazz Is Dead live series at Lodge Room. It’s happening Saturday, Mar. 25. Don’t sleep on it.
