Anthony Valadez flies solo and reflects on the life and impact of longtime KCRW friend Paul Reubens — best known for his iconic character Pee-wee Herman.
Anthony Valadez flies solo this morning and, in what is becoming a far too regular occurrence, delivers the news that actor, comedian, and long time friend of KCRW Paul Reubens has died at the age of 70. During today’s broadcast you’ll hear cuts from Reubens’ 2016 Guest DJ Project, and the 2021 special The Pee-wee Herman Radio Hour. Plus, cuts to reflect how we’re feeling about losing a pal + icon, and songs that invoke the performer’s long and illustrious career (i.e. “Tequila.”
