Legendary bossa nova and samba performer Astrud Gilberto has died at the age of 83 and we’re celebrating her life with a couple of versions of her most famous standard “The Girl From Ipanema” — original flavor and disco. Gilberto is said to have crafted the English lyrics to the song which was composed by Antônio Carlos Jobim with Portuguese lyrics by Vinícius de Moraes.
