Very few people have done as much to shape music and popular culture over the past century than Quincy Jones — in ways both apparent and subtle. This is well evidenced in the playlist for this edition of Morning Becomes Eclectic. Press the player button on this page and allow yourself to be immersed in the variety of works that Jones had a hand in: From songs that he performed himself (including his penchant for crafting Brazilian music), to his early production works with artists like Frank Sinatra and Lesley Gore, to his later contributions for artists like The Brothers Johnson and Rufus & Chaka Khan.

Jones, who died on Sunday Nov. 3 at the age of 91, also worked with such luminaries as Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. His impact on film and television throughout the years was similarly profound and his open book personal life was as intriguing as his creative endeavors. Celebrate his life and work with us here and now. Plus, plenty more of the new, classic, and should-be classic tracks that you’ll hear every time you tune into MBE.
