KCRW's Top 30: José González takes the top spot

Some records come out swinging, and some take more of a slow burn approach. “Local Valley,” José González’s subtle stunner of a new album, has traveled the latter path. While “Local Valley” has appeared on our Top 30 chart many times leading up to its September 17 release date, this is it’s first time at number one. Welcome Mr. González, we’ve been waiting for you.

Someone we weren’t necessarily waiting for, but should have been is Terry Presume. His latest EP “What Box?” and its standout track “Act Up” have been out there for awhile now, but it makes its chart debut this week with a solid cross section of DJs putting it into rotation.
