    Gay men reportedly detained and abused in Chechnya

    German Chancellor Angela Merkel met with Russian President Vladimir Putin today in Sochi. She urged him to protect the rights of minorities. She talked about reports gay men are being rounded up and tortured in Chechnya. More than 100 men have reportedly been arrested and sent to detention centers.

    German Chancellor Angela Merkel met with Russian President Vladimir Putin today in Sochi. She urged him to protect the rights of minorities. She talked about reports gay men are being rounded up and tortured in Chechnya. More than 100 men have reportedly been arrested and sent to detention centers. According to Human Rights Watch, three have died.
