On Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General released a scathing report on the Adelanto detention facility in San Bernardino. Thousands of migrants have been held there since it opened in 2011.
On Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General released a scathing report on the Adelanto detention facility in San Bernardino. Thousands of migrants have been held there since it opened in 2011. During a surprise visit to the facility, feds found nooses made of bedsheets in 15 to 20 cells. A staff dentist suggested detainees floss their teeth with string from their socks. It took months or years to get a medical/dental appointment, and sometimes that appointment was suddenly canceled.
