Resident DJ

Cornelius is KCRW's Resident DJ for September 2026.

KCRW’s Resident DJ is a sonic laboratory where artists are invited to reinvent, reimagine, and lean into their most eclectic, creative impulses. Expect big swings unfettered by genre, format, or any of the other structures typically associated with a club mix… and not just from established DJs — musicians, creators, and organizations from the farthest reaches of the cultural landscape will be stepping up to the decks. Each month, a new Resident DJ takes over and curates fresh hour-long mixes every Friday just for KCRW.

Resident DJ airs every Thursday night/Friday morning from midnight to 1 a.m. PT, and can be streamed anytime on the KCRW app.

Cornelius is the brainchild of Japanese multi-instrumentalist Keigo Oyamada. A performing musician since his teens, Oyamada's international breakthrough came with the release of Fantasma in 1997. He quickly became a sought-after producer/remixer for Blur, Beck, Bloc Party, James Brown, and k.d. lang, among many others. As a musician, Oyamada became the backbone of Yoko Ono's reformed Plastic Ono Band and played in the final configuration of Yellow Magic Orchestra. Oyamada continues to write and produce as Cornelius, in addition to composing for soundtracks including Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Ghost In The Shell: Arise. Cornelius joins KCRW as our Resident DJ for September 2026.
