Apr 6, 2023

In honor of a pink moon in the sky, this edition of FREAKS ONLY opens with Nick Drake’s spare, acoustic masterwork of the same name. Unfolding from there is what host Travis Holcombe describes as his attempt to craft, “the most beautiful set in FREAKS ONLY history.” Tunes from José González, Sara Noelle, and Noviciat de Soeurs Missionaires de Notre-Dame d'Afrique & Four Religious Drummers suggest a mission accomplished. Plus, Little Dragon’s brand new single “Slugs of Love,” Zamrock pioneers WITCH collabing with Sampa The Great, and a heady sonic meditation from Leaving Records founder Matthewdavid.
