It’s been a little over a year since we last caught up with our pal Orlando Higginbottom (aka Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs), and he’s been busy. The Grammy-nominated producer of cerebral synth-pop has teamed up with Libson-based modern disco artist Moullinex for the bombastic dance-floor-ready single “So Alive.” And since cracking the top 20 of KCRW’s Best Albums of 2022 with his latest LP When The Lights Go, he’s hand-picked remixers for the freshly released deluxe edition of the album (including tastemaking producers Holiday87 and Damian Lazarus), and toured extensively.

Ahead of his show at The Bellwether on Friday, Nov. 10 (Presented by KCRW, and with FREAKS ONLY host Travis Holcombe on the DJ decks), the now officially LA-based Higginbottom is stopping by KCRW HQ to chat with Holcombe about shaking things up via collaborations, taking risks with his live show, and eventually making an album full of orchestral arrangements. (Segment begins at 00:57:05).

He’s also dropping an exclusive guest DJ mix for FREAKS ONLY chock full of KCRW favorites including yunè pinku, Man Power, and John Tejada. It’ll have you locked into its seamlessly mixed four on the floor groove in no time.
