Is Prop 47 Having Unintended Consequences?

Sixty-percent of the voters agreed to reduce six felony crimes to misdemeanors, and that's reduced overcrowding in local jails. But some cops claim Prop 47 has also led to an increase in property crimes. Others say it's too soon to draw any conclusions. Law enforcement is still divided.

Sixty-percent of the voters agreed to reduce six felony crimes to misdemeanors, and that's reduced overcrowding in local jails. But some cops claim Prop 47 has also led to an increase in property crimes. Others say it's too soon to draw any conclusions. Law enforcement is still divided, just as it was before the voters went to the polls last November.

Also, Nury Martinez faces a challenge in next Tuesday's election but, win or lose, there will still be one woman on the LA City Council.
