Hollywood Farmers Market Faces Partial Closure

There’s been quite a flap at the Hollywood Farmers Market.  The market organizers, lead by Pompea Smith, are petitioning the city to renew their permit to close one block of Ivar.  The permit was not renewed due to objections from LA Film School, whose parking lot is blocked every Sunday during market hours.

In an email exchange with Evan, City Council Presiden Eric Garcetti had this to say: “”The Hollywood Farmer’s Market is a long-time, beloved neighborhood
institution and my office is working to help them work out a solution with their neighbors.”

They’re working on a compromise and we’ll see what comes up in the next few days.  In the meantime, here are a few links to bring you up to speed:
