Life’s a peach

Is there a more perfect fruit than the perfect peach? We wonder. This week at the market, Chef Corina Weibel picks up some Regier Family Farm peaches for her Atwater Village restaurant, Canelé.

Troy Regier was just a toddler when his parents Jim and Norma began to grow peaches on 20 acres in Reedley. He started selling the farm’s bounty at the Wednesday Santa Monica Farmers Market in high school. Fast forward to 2016: The orchard has doubled in size and Troy Regier’s daughters are the ones selling 50 stone fruit varieties at the market. The Spring Crest is the peach to get now but better move fast: it’s only in season for one more week.
