Nalewka – Polish Homemade Fortified Vodka

Mars Berman is a listener who lives in Poland. She shared her photos of her homemade fortified vodka. See her notes below…
These were dead ripe in September.
Presently I and many people take their berries, and any fruit they can find and make a fortified vodka or spiritus (80 percent alcohol) called nalewka.
My jar has raspberries, plums, crab apples, orange rind, ginger, cinnamon, clove, anything I feel like. I add and drink as the summer goes on.  A “cordial” is too mild a word for this lovely drink.
It tastes great solo or with soda.
I am looking forward to making quince nalewka in the fall.
