Photo: Amsterdam Street Food

Written by

Every day this month we’re going to be featuring a photo of street food from around the world.  It’s all part of our celebration of Global Street Food, culminating in our  event on May 1 at the Broad Stage.  Email us your photo and we’ll post it on our blog.

These photos are from V. Vichit (who also sent the images from Italy):

Amsterdam is a city full of great, though often unhealthful, street food. The herring stands were my personal favorite and satisfyingly trashy deep-fried krokets abound, but probably my single best Amsterdam street food experience was when I came across a vendor in the Albert Cuypstraat market making fresh, hot, gooey stroopwafels. No store-bought stroopwafels can ever compare to the one I had on the street that day.
