Reading Terminal MarketGood Food Producer Harriet Ells is in Philadelphia for the holiday week.  She sent this note from the city of Brotherly Love:

I’m here in Philly visiting family.  Our first stop off the Amtrak train was to Reading Terminal Market where we went in search of the famous DiNic’s roast pork sandwich with greens and cheese.  I had first seen the sandwich featured on Man vs. Food, Philadelphia.  Boy did it live up to the hype.  We ordered four sandwiches: pulled pork, roast pork and brisket.  They’re served on a crusty roll with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone cheese.  They were phenomenal.

Reading Terminal Market is the Philly version of the Third and Fairfax Farmers Market.  It has small artisan vendors, food stalls, and produce stands.  Many of the vendors are Amish – they sell homemade jams, pickles, cakes and breads.  They were so delicious.  Since I know how they feel about cameras, I didn’t take their picture.
