Jonathan is the Pulitzer Prize winning food writer for the LA Times, and this week he talks about one of the more unusual restaurants to open this year, Mari Vanna, a new Russian restaurant on Melrose Place. He recommends the herring plate, salo plate, chicken holodetz, blini with house cured salmon, “herring under a fur coat,” veal kotletki and the olivier salad.
