Richard Reeves: A timely history of internment in America

Hosted by

Long time journalist and USC professor Richard Reeves is the author of many books, including, most recently, Infamy: The Shocking Story of Japanese American Internment in World War II. In their conversation, Reeves discusses the similarities in the rhetoric around Japanese-American internment during World World II and Donald Trump's suggestions about Muslim-Americans during the presidential campaign. Reeves tells Robert Scheer that one of the mistakes journalists made during the campaign was not taking Trump seriously enough until he was already the Republican nominee. He also gives his take on the President-elect after covering Trump in the 1980s.
