- Emma Thompson has left a Skydance project after the company hired John Lasseter to head its animation division. Her departure adds to the already massive blowback Skydance received since Lasseter’s hiring.
- Jen Salke, the studio head of Amazon, has started to share what the future of Amazon films may look like. They won’t be making as many movies as Netflix, but will be doing more of a mix of big blockbusters and smaller boutique films. So far, Amazon has remained much more committing to following a release pattern with a real theatrical window. We’ll see if that holds.
