Hosted by

In the mid-1970's, most people in Jerry Givens' hometown knew him as a family man or a Sunday school teacher. Givens never told anyone about his day job as a corrections officer and executioner. But when Givens found himself in prison, he had to try even harder to keep his old job a secret.

This story was produced by Davey Kim. He's a radio producer based in Oakland, California, working for the program Snap Judgement. Edited and mixed by Nick White.
