Culprit Sessions.
Hosted by a crew of talented, world-renowned DJs known collectively as Droog LA, the Culprit Sessions have quietly been making their mark on the dance music scene in LA while party people have been nursing their Saturday night party scars at brunch all across the city.
The Droog collective have hosted new house heroes like Lee Foss, Jamie Jones, Wolf & Lamb and Benoit & Sergio and provided a sexy, laidback alternative to the more abrasive dance culture that people generally associate with club culture in Hollywood.
In addition, they’ve started a label called Culprit which showcases up-and-coming talent like Luca Bacchetti and Climbers. As a calling card of sorts, they’ve released 2 compilations titled “Above The City” (no doubt a nod to their rooftop celebration) which feature a grip of really solid cuts from artists associated with underground labels like DIY and Futureboogie.
The second installment of “Above The City” is set for release early this month and the Droog boys have gracefully offered up a sample of what you can expect from their rooftop extravaganza.
The last Culprit Session of the season is going to be at the Standard Downtown on October 14th, and will feature a rooftop set by Guy Gerber (whose recent Fabric compliation is a stunner.)
Enjoy…and see you on the rooftop.
