Schlachthofbronx – Rave and Romance
Schlachthofbronx have a complex name, but their musical mission is simple: BASS. And lots of it. We’re talking about deep, eardrum pounding, gut-jiggling bass; the kind where if you’re in a club and the DJ is playing Schlachthofbronx and there’s an earthquake, you wouldn’t even know because everything is already shaking.
The Munich-based duo released their third full length album, entitled “Rave And Romance“, on their website last week. The record features guest spots from Bonde do Role, Warrior Queen, Nicky Da B (the man whose voice gave rise to 2012’s #ExpressYourself meme), and LOTS OF BASS.
Brenmar – “High End Times Vol. 1 (The Remixes)”
Where Schlachthofbronx approach their work from tropical/dancehall angle, NY-based DJ/producer Brenmar’s releases have always been more rooted in R&B. Both, however, share a love for the low end.
This past week, Brenmar put out an album of guest remixes of tracks from his excellent “High End Times Vol. 1” release (which is also still available a free download).
The new album, fittingly titled “High End Times Vol. 1 (The Remixes)“, features reworks by LA’s Falcons and NJ Club prince DJ Big O, among others. My personal favorite of the bunch is Suicideyear’s space bass remix of Super Fly featuring Sasha Go Hard. But with eight different remixers, there’s plenty of different flavors to choose from.
