DJ Tom Schnabel sent a link to this video out to a couple DJs and I figured I would share it with you as well.

From Tom:

This is one of the most joyful videos by one of my favorite, most inspiring groups: Michael Franti and Spearhead. Note that it’s shot in no-man’s land, that of the favelas, the hilltop slums of Rio. The only other non-Brazilian video shot there was Michael Jackson’s They Don’t Care About Us” from the early 90s.”

Editor’s Note: I was lucky enough to get a preview of this track – off Spearhead’s last full length “All Rebel Rockers”(one of my fave albums of 2008) when Franti performed at a Bob Dylan tribute at the Skirball Center. He played “Hey, I Love You” last and, when I got home, I immediately hopped on my computer to search for it, but it was nowhere to be found. I swear, I spent about an hour looking for it because I couldn’t get it out of my head. When the record finally came out, I was so excited to hear it again. If this doesn’t put a smile on your face, I don’t know what will.
