Stream: New Editors — “A Ton of Love”

Written by

The sound of Tom Smith’s rich baritone on Morning Becomes Eclectic the other morning was my first indication that the Editors were back. It’s been a little while (the UK band’s “In This Light and on This Evening” came out in 2009) and they are back with a vengeance.

The first single is a full throttle rocker with urgent cries of the word “desire” that does not hold back for a second (not the only commonality with U2, who they get compared to from time to time). There is no hesitation here. The band is announcing it’s return with one of their best songs yet.

The band has two new members, following the departure of founding member Chris Urbanowicz in 2012, and was recorded in Nashville at Blackbird Studio with producer Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Of Monsters and Men, Kings of Leon)

Jason is partial to this track, called “The Weight”.

The entire album “The Weight Of Your Love” is streaming in full as part of our Album Preview series and is out now.
