Contemplative Queens-based songcrafter Nick Hakim comes through HQ to deliver a honey-hued session of intricately woven R&B compositions with his pitch perfect band. Cuts from their 2022 album COMETA abound, with an exquisitely jammed out take on their 2020 hit “Qadir” thrown in for (extra) good measure.

We’re also guiding you through the lineup of the just announced KCRW Festival at the Hollywood Bowl, and tracing the roots of how Feb. 7 has come to be known as International Clash Day. Rock the Casbah with us in its honor.
