There aren't many parks and recreational areas in Garden Grove and Santa Ana. Public land advocates want to change that by turning the 100-acre Willowick Golf Course into open space. The course is about six miles south of Disneyland, and opened in 1928. It’s the oldest public 18-hole golf course in Orange County. However, land developers want to use the 100 acres of land for housing, offices, and entertainment venues. Both Garden Grove and Santa Ana are staying quiet about their plans.
