It would raise an estimated $120 billion over the next 40 years to fund new light rail lines, freeway upgrades and bike paths, among other projects.

It would raise an estimated $120 billion over the next 40 years to fund new light rail lines, freeway upgrades and bike paths, among other projects. It would do so by creating a permanent, half cent sales tax, and build on similar tax already on the books. But some local leaders say their communities will never see the money.
