A California state appeals court has upheld Proposition 22, the ballot measure approved by voters two years ago. It exempted companies like Uber, Lyft, and Postmates from a state law that would have required them to classify their gig workers as employees. Instead, they’re considered independent contractors. The ruling will likely be appealed to the California Supreme Court.
